Daystar broke hood latches

Hardware provided is too large and does not correctly fit hole in stock latches. Instructions do not say to drill so I forced in by hand which caused both top latches to crack and fail upon installation. I have emailed Daystar of the problem. They need to provide correct size hardware in these kits. You should not have to force it together. Also the hood fit is too tight. You can actually see the fenders being pulled up into the hood resulting in the hood, grille and fender lines no longer matching up.

Do the job as intended with no difficulty

Had these for over a year, repeatedly opening the hood for battery cut-off when towing. They are stiff and that is exactly what you want! No more hood flutter. They don't wreck the mount as the other reviewer has feared. Excellent solution.

Beware Daystar Hood Wranglers

These are not a well designed product, they cause the hood to be extremely difficult to latch. Virtually to the point that you are concerned the top part of the latch will break as you try to close it. In talking to a tech at Daystar they said they made their dogbone the same length as the stock one. That has not been what I have found as I purchased a NEW stock one and the Daystar is about 1/8" shorter than a brand new stock part. The Daystar polyurethane material is way stiffer then the stock rubber and will not stretch as the stock ones do. If they had indeed made them the stock length they may have been OK. The Tech at Daystar was no help and not interested in fixing this issue. I would NOT recommend this product as is. It could be a very effective fix if designed correctly, but at this time it is NOT.
